蔚華科戰略投資埃爾思科技

On July 20, 2023, SPIROX, a professional brand specializing in semiconductor packaging and testing solutions, announced a strategic equity investment in the startup ALES Tech. The investment, made in collaboration with domestic venture capital institutions, includes an exclusive distribution agreement for ALES Tech's core products, Nano Probes and Micro Probes, in China. Starting in July, SPIROX will promote the full range of these products to semiconductor and panel customers in China while actively assisting ALES in achieving its development and commercialization goals for the GFIS-FIB (Gas Field Ion Source Focused Ion Beam Equipment).

ALES Tech's founder and chairman, Dr. Chang Wei-Tse, expressed that this strategic investment and business collaboration with SPIROX is a significant validation of ALES Tech's four-year efforts in research and market performance. The company's core team, originating from the research group at Academia Sinica, has developed patented technology for single-atom probe fabrication, enabling high current density with small light source sizes. Nano and Micro Probes are derived applications of this technology.

SPIROX Chairman Peter Chin emphasized the growing demand for low-power, small-size, heterogeneous integration, and ultra-high-speed chip architecture technologies due to rapid advancements in high-performance computing, neural networks, quantum computing, and autonomous driving. The collaboration with ALES Tech to promote the Nano and Micro Probe business, along with the anticipated deep technology innovation product GFIS-FIB, aims to enhance the completeness of SPIROX's process and quality assurance solutions and broaden its customer base.

Alex Chung, President of Legend Innovation and one of ALES Tech's earliest investors, remarked that SPIROX 's early investment in ALES Tech and the establishment of a deep commercial partnership have attracted other VC investments. This partnership is viewed as one of the best examples of Corporate Venture Capital (CVC) in Taiwan in recent years. He expressed optimism about maximizing synergies from this collaboration to quickly achieve industry expansion.

半導體封裝測試解決方案專業品牌蔚華科（3055）今日宣布聯合國內風投機構，完成對新創公司「埃爾思科技」的戰略性股權投資並且針對該公司核心業務之一「奈米探針（Nano Probe）及微米探針（Micro Probe）」簽署中國獨家經銷合約，自今年7月起，開始面向中國半導體與面板客戶推廣奈米與微米探針全系列產品，同時也積極幫助埃爾思儘早達成GFIS-FIB（氣體場離子源聚焦離子束設備）研發上市目標，提前布局先進半導體製程所需的失效分析檢測與電路修補關鍵技術。

埃爾思科技創辦人暨董事長張維哲說，此次獲得蔚華科技的戰略性投資與探針業務合作機會，對於新創4年的埃爾思而言，確實給予團隊在研發成果與市場實績的具體肯定，公司核心成員皆來自中研院物理所的研究團隊，主要以專利製備單原子針並使之可以順利場發電流密度極大但光源尺寸極小的多種惰性氣體離子為其核心技術，而奈米與微米探針即是該技術的衍生應用。

埃爾思科技的最早期的投資人暨董事「誠研創新」總經理鍾金峯認為，蔚華早期即入股埃爾思並在核心業務建立深度商業合作關係，同步更帶動其他風投資金的聯合投資，不僅為埃爾思帶來質變也完成量變，無疑是近年國內CVC（Corporate Venture Capital）最好的典範案例之一，這次有幸促成多方合作，非常期待合作後能儘快發揮最大的綜效，被客戶看見並快速完成產業擴散。
